Thursday North Lincs Half Race Director Ramblings
May 3, 2018
Hope you have enjoyed the sun today?
Really busy day for us today, main job has been taking delivery of the fab race tee shirts. A bit of last minute problem solving, but they arrived in the end. Other jobs include talking through logistics with the timing company, making sure every member of our race crew receives their tee shirt, the usual inbox full of e mails and no you can’t use a motorised scooter if you are injured(true!).
Tomorrow is a busy day making sure the 5 water stations and sponge station have all the kit they need.
Todays important advice relates to water. There will be cups and bottles at all stations. If you only need a sip of water then please take a cup rather than wasting a bottle full…Thanks.
A word about security. With the current National threat, we have reviewed all our security arrangements. Humberside Police have provided us with the following information…..
There is no need for anyone to be alarmed, we want everyone to enjoy the race as normal, but ask that you remain alert and vigilant.
Please report any unattended baggage or suspicious activity to an event marshal.
If using the baggage truck, you must show your runner number prior to handing the bag to our volunteers.
Don’t leave bags unattended or anywhere they could cause a security scare. And never agree to look after anyone else’s bags, no matter how plausible their story.
In an emergency, if you think there is an immediate risk, always call 999 and look around you for help from race marshals.
Remember, the chance of being caught in a terrorism incident is small. But if it happens – Run, Hide, Tell.
We have closed down on-line entry for the fun run. You can print off a form and bring it with you on the day. Details HERE .
That’s it for now and looking forward to Sunday!
