Tape2Tape Gainsborough Morton 10k

October 4, 2019

Tape2Tape were honoured to be approached by Kevin Housham, previous organiser of the Gainsborough Morton 10k,  to ask us is if we wanted to take over the organisation of this race, which first took place in 2012. This well established race is a favourite with local runners, having built up a good reputation over the years. Indeed, Nicola and Neil undertook the initial measurement of the course 8 years ago more or less to the day and have both ran the race!

Tape2Tape are a very small team consisting of Nicola and Neil Pattison, together with a few other team members who work on our races on a part-time basis. Whilst being very busy on our other races we wanted to ensure that this great race continued into 2020 and hopefully beyond. After a lot of thought we decided it was the right decision to buy the rights to the race in readiness for 22nd March 2020. Contracts have now been exchanged and Tape2Tape are now proud guardians of the #GM10K.

Having spent a full day in Gainsborough  analysing every aspect of the race we see no reason to make sweeping changes to this established race. We intend involving the local community and businesses to help us put the race on, indeed we already have Queen Elizabeth High School and Morton Village Hall on board.

Meetings held with local businesses gives us the confidence that everyone is behind us so we can put on a thoroughly safe and enjoyable race for you all. Any other businesses wanting to become involved are asked to contact Nicola by e mail nicola@tape2tape.co.uk or telephone 01472 824894.

We have also met many local members of the community who love the race and want to be part of the Tape2Tape Race Crew. Any individuals or groups who want to be part of the team are encouraged to make contact via the web site https://tape2tape.co.uk/volunteer/

We will be releasing 1000 entries for the race and intend opening up  towards the end of October once all plans are in place. Runners are advised that we expect these places to be snapped up and are encouraged to pre-register interest on the Tape2Tape web site at www.GM10K.COM

We look forward to keeping this great race alive for years to come. #GM10K

Thank you

Nicola and Neil Pattison
