St. Hugh’s Hospital Great Grimsby Family Fun Run
March 9, 2020
From parents with pushchairs, toddlers and children, to older people and those with a disability, people of all ages and abilities are invited to join in the St Hugh’s Fun Run for another year.
St Hugh’s Hospital will once again be supporting the fun run that starts and finishes under the same arches as the Ørsted Great Grimsby 10K.
On Sunday 19 July 2020, people will line the streets of Grimsby to take part in the popular 10K race – but there will also be the fun run kicking off the day at 9.30am.
The leisurely 1.2km fun run is open to anyone of all ages and abilities.
Gary Allington, health promotion officer at St Hugh’s Hospital, said: “At St Hugh’s, we are once again delighted to be able to support Tape2Tape in facilitating both the Ørsted Great Grimsby 10K and the St Hugh’s Fun Run.
“Health promotion and community events are an important part of our ethos and these two events are superb examples of both.
“In particular, the fun run is a great way to promote being active to family groups, young people and people in general who wouldn’t normally take part in a running event.”
Lydia Gibbs, from race organiser Tape2Tape, said: “The St Hugh’s Hospital Family Fun Run is a great event for runners, joggers, walkers and strollers alike.
“The run is inclusive to all abilities and we welcome and accommodate a wide range of disabilities, of which we will provide carers with a free entry.”
Any carer wishing to accompany someone on the fun run is eligible for a free fun run entry, which can be claimed by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entry to the fun run is £5, with discounts available for family and group entries. All entries must be on the same order to qualify and the discount will be applied at the checkout page.
The fun run route can be viewed at www.plotaroute.com/route/910165.
All finishers will receive a medal and sweets.
