Gainsborough Morton 10k Race Postponement

March 16, 2020

Hope you are keeping well.

Having listened to the latest advice from the Government we have taken the decision on the grounds of public safety to postpone Sunday’s race. Today’s updated advice from the Chief Medical Officer is clear in that we should all avoid non-essential contact with other people. Whilst we appreciate some of you who have trained hard for the race will be disappointed, we have just moved into unprecedented times and we need to work together as one to get through the emerging crisis.

This race has been many months in the planning with a considerable amount of work undertaken in our first year to make it a safe and enjoyable Tape2Tape event for you. As a small business who support many charities and community groups at all of our events,  we are now doing our utmost to identify a date when we hope to be able to re-schedule the race to. We will contact you again as soon as we are in a position to do so and outline all of your options.

In the meantime we respectfully ask you not to contact us with your own personal circumstances/opinions about what should happen next and let us get on with the  considerable task of trying to coordinate the many services and key individuals needed to put this race on for you. We re-iterate that we are working on a number of options to try and support all of you.

As caring people we would like to take the opportunity to ask you to reflect for a moment and think about individuals who are affected by the Corona Virus. A phone call or a text message to a friend or a loved one will go a long way.

We are all in this together, by staying strong the country will pull through the other side.

We will be back to you as soon as we have the answers for you.

Best regards

Nicola, Neil and the Tape2Tape Team
