Race overview

As part of the popular Gainsborough Morton 10k, this 1km family fun run will allow all participants to see the 10k underway before taking part in the fun run. You can walk, jog, run or stroll in this 1km fun event. The start is on Walkerith Road at the 9km mark for the main race and finishes in exactly the same place as the 10k in Field Lane. This will be great fun for all the family, with each finisher receiving a medal and some sweets.

ENTRY FEES

Entry to this event is £5 with discounts available for family/group entries (all entries must be on the same order to qualify and the discount will be applied at the checkout page).

Family of two – 40p per person discount

Family of three – 50p per person discount

Family of four or more – 80p per person discount

Please note that all runners under 18 must be entered on an adult’s profile. There is no lower age limit but children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Race HQ

This will be at the lovely location of Morton Village Hall. This is where you need to collect your number, between 730am and 9am. Also there will be

This is a short walk from the start and finish lines. There is limited parking in this area, runners are advised to use the High School for safe off street parking.

 

Race course

The event is open to walkers, joggers, runners and strollers.

It is 1km in length and uses the final 1km of the 10k course, finishing in Field Lane underneath the large archway.

The start is 0935, which will allow participants to walk towards the fun run start line and cheer the 10k runners on before you get underway.

Parking

 

We ask that you travel to the race with more than you in the car! This will assist in reducing the environmental impact of the race and reduce the need to queue when parking.

The main race car park is at Queen Elizabeth High School, Morton Terrace, Gainsborough DN21 2ST. School staff will be on hand to ensure you are parked up safely.

There is a much smaller car park at Morton Cleveland Surgery, Vanessa Dr, Gainsborough DN21 2UQ

There is also plenty of on street parking within a mile of the start/finish area.

We are very reliant on the support of the local community, so please park in a safe and sensible manner

Prizes

This is exactly as it says on ‘the tin’, a fun run. There will be no timing nor prizes, save for a small trophy for the first male/female across the line.

There is no minimum age for entry, however parents/guardians are responsible for any child who enters the fun run.

Refunds of entry fee will not be considered under any circumstances.

It is not possible to defer an entry to future years nor to any other Tape2Tape event.

The organisers will not be responsible for the loss, theft or damage of your personal belongings, other than caused as a result of our negligence.

It is your responsibility to make sure you have the required fitness to complete the fun run.

It is your personal responsibility to ensure that you arrive in good health ready to complete the race. You are advised to note the advice at www.runnersmedicalresource.com

There will be event medical cover in place at the run. If you need any assistance, please notify a marshal/official and they will make contact with the medics.

If a runner with disabilities wishes to enter, please make contact with the organisers to discuss the feasibility of safely participating in the race. We will arrange a site visit with you so that you can undertake a suitable assessment of risk.

Please listen to and respond to the advice given by race officials and marshals. They are there to ensure that you and the general public are safe.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you arrive in good time for the start of the run.

In the event that adverse weather or any other prevailing circumstances mean that the race is to be cancelled, details will be recorded on this website and on the event Facebook page. A message will also be left on the event mobile phone. No refunds will be given, however we will make arrangements so you can collect your race souvenirs. The organisers are not liable in any way for any expenditure you may have incurred.

Please ensure that you note any medical conditions on the rear of your running number. If you have any prevailing medical condition that you wish to make the organisers aware of then please notify by e mail.

Do not run using any other runners number.

By entering the race you give your permission for any photographs/video recordings to be used on the event website.

Runners must not be accompanied by anyone on a pedal cycle.

All dogs are banned from the race. Anyone wishing to run with a guide dog must contact the organisers in advance of race day.

Any found property handed to Tape2Tape will be kept for two weeks after the race then it will be disposed of. Any postage charges will be the responsibility of the loser should a request be made to post lost items.

It is your responsibility to check that any food you purchase at the event is suitable for your needs and does not contain any ingredients that you are unable to consume as a result of a medical condition.

Privacy notice – Tape2Tape will process your personal information for the purpose of organising and administrating the  race and in accordance with the Data Protection Act. This will include contacting you with updates in regard to the race. We will not process your personal information for any other purpose or disclose it to any other third parties without your consent.

Fun Run Course

The  course itself is held on flat open roads. It is in our view suitable for wheelchairs. After the finish line there is a section on the grass to negotiate. Please let the organisers know if you require any assistance on the grass.

Age

There is no minimum age, but children must be supervised at all times by an adult.

Parking

There are plenty of parking spaces close to the start/finish area.

Visual impairment
