Quibell Park, Brumby Wood Lane, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire
We are delighted to be working with North Lincolnshire Council for the fourth year to use their excellent facilities at Quibell Park. Set in lovely woodlands this setting allows us to make the race day experience even more special for our runners.
This is less than 5 minutes drive from the M181 motorway, which makes the race extremely accessible for the whole of the motorway network.
It is a 5-10 minute walk to the start line of the fun run. There is the option for 5km runners to pay for a bus to take them to the start line. Alternatively you can get someone to drop you off in Stone Lane, Burringham where the start line will be located.
Quibell Park is a perfect venue for your family and friends to watch you start and finish the race. The finish is excellent as runners will finish by running clockwise around the athletics track for around 250m. The concourse around the track is big enough for literally hundreds of family members to cheer you in as you speed around the track. With the rousing sound of our commentator on the PA system, this will be a really memorable finish to a fast, flat and friendly race.
There are showers and changing rooms at Quibell Park as well as a small number of lockers.
We will be bringing in food vendors to make sure there are plenty of refreshments available for the runners and their spectators alike.
There will be plenty, but don’t leave until the last minute!
All fun run entrants will be able to watch the half marathon set off from Scotter Road/Bristol Road junction before stepping into the road themselves. The course goes down Scotter Road towards the viaduct, turns right into Brumby Wood Lane, right into the grounds of Quibell Park athletics stadium before finishing with 250 around the athletics track.
