This will be based  at the RNLI lifeboat station on Cleethorpes promenade. This is a 10 minute walk down to the start line and 2  minutes from the finish line. It is not possible to park on the promenade due to the race road closures.

Both races start on Kings Road near to Cleethorpes leisure centre and finish on the promenade.

Half marathon route >>>HALF MARATHON

The start is on Kings Road near to Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, where you run out of town towards the Haven holiday Park.

At the roundabout after a mile you enter the Haven holiday site main road and turn right at the first roundabout. A loop inside the holiday park follows, before exiting along a trail leading to South Sea Lane.

Follow the full length of South Sea Lane then a left turn onto the A1031.

A flat straight road section follows across the Lincolnshire border to Teteny , where you turn left at the cross roads towards Tetney Lock.

A left turn onto Newton Marsh Lane just before Tetney Lock, then a right turn onto a trail leading down to the Humber Bank.

A left turn onto the grassed Humber Bank follows, then a run onto the Fitties holiday park.

A right turn back off the Fitties and a left turn onto the Humber Bank.

A short section including a bit of sand, then onto the coastal footpath all the way back to the promenade and a fabulous finish on the sea front.

The multi-terrain half marathon course takes in flat fast tarmac, scenic countryside, far reaching coastal views, historic coastal footpath, trails, new and old holiday parks with a fantastic finish on Cleethorpes promenade.

10KM Course>>> 10K MAP

The 10k course is similar to one we used in 2021. Its starts on Kings Road, Cleethorpes,  then goes through Haven holiday park, onto the Fitties Park then onto a short grassed track, with a short sand section. It then takes the tarmac coastal footpath back to the finish in Cleethorpes.

A  full rolling road closure will be in place for the race for the safety of the runners, volunteers and other road users. This is legally binding and authorised by North East Lincolnshire Council and Lincolnshire county Council.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We ask road users to make a slight adjustment to their day and allow the race to take place. Please do not drive on the closed roads as you are putting the lives of our volunteers, some of whom are children, as well as those of 2000 plus runners at risk.

Please be assured that we will re-open all roads as soon as it is safe to do so.

Some of the other ways that we ensure we maintain a positive environmental impact and ensure our events are sustainable, they include:

  • We do not have any plastic water bottles at the race
  • Working closely with our local authority at North East Lincolnshire Council who assist us by collecting all recyclable race packaging and disposing of on our behalf
  • Using recyclable paper cups at all water stations
  • Bins for recycling bottles will be at the finish area
  • Any discarded clothing left on the start line by runners is collected and then donated to a local charity who receive funds for the recyclable weight
  • No paper material is posted out to participants – key information is emailed out by a full colour PDF race brochure
  • We do not give away post-race goody bags that containing paper items/leaflets etc
  • We endeavour to use an electric lead car in the race to reduce emissions around the race route
  • Spare event medals and some of the left-over event t-shirts are donated to a local charity to reuse or recycle for funds
  • We encourage runners to bring along old trainers, medals and clothing that will be recycled by a local charity
  • Using local service providers
  • All our refreshment providers are required to use recyclable, cups, trays, etc.
  • Encouraging car sharing where is safe and appropriate to do so
  • Provide a park and stride for runners and spectators so emissions are reduced in the town centre

We continue to look at ways we can improve our environmental footprint. Maybe you are a business who has some advice or may be interested in getting involved in the event. We would welcome some support/sponsorship for a specific recycling initiative at the finish area, this would greatly assist us in our aim to be a litter free event. If you would like to get involved, please do not hesitate to contact nicola@tape2tape.co.uk or Tel: 01472 824894.

ABP HUMBER

Dedicated to supporting the community

Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber is delighted to be supporting the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10K for the seventh year.

ABP Humber works to support local organisations to make a difference to people’s lives. For us that means helping to ensure events like this can continue for the benefit of the local community and those who are drawn to the race from outside the area.

ABP encourages its colleagues and their families to enter the race or volunteer on the day. We strongly endorse this ethos, as we know how this support is vital to ensure events like this can operate.

Every part of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10K is reviewed to help ensure sustainability; from recyclable water bottles and paper cups to donating left over t-shirts and medals to charity.

Our advice to you runners is that you use public loos in the resort to save queuing pre race

As Cleethorpes is a seaside town there are plenty of public toilets in the resort which will be open for the duration of the race. Those of you who arrive early and grab a drink from a local cafe will also be able to use their loos.

The following local toilets are located near to the race

Cleethorpes Boating Lake

This is a 2 minute walk from the start of the race and maybe a good idea to head there rather than queue for the portaloos!

Facilities

  • Male – 3 cubicles / 1 urinal trough
  • Female – 5 cubicles
  • Ambulent – 1 male / 1 female
  • Disabled – 1 (separate FREE access via RADAR)

Cleethorpes Kingsway

These are located on the promenade near to Cleethorpes Leisure Centre. This about a 3 minute walk from the start line and 5 minutes walk from the finish line.

Facilities

  • Male – 3 cubicles / 2 urinal troughs
  • Female – 8 cubicles
  • Ambulent – 1 male / 1 female
  • Disabled – 1 (separate FREE access via RADAR)

Cleethorpes Sea Road

These are located on the road opposite Cleethorpes Pier. This is a 3 minute walk from the race finish line and around 12 minutes walk to the start line.

Currently due to building works, portable toilets are available here.

Cleethorpes St. Peters Avenue

These are located at the rear of Boots store, approximately 10 minutes walk from the start/finish lines.

Facilities

  • Male – 3 cubicles / 1 urinal trough
  • Female – 7 cubicles
  • Ambulent – 1 male / 1 female
  • Disabled – 1 (separate FREE access via RADAR)

There will also be a small number of potable toilets at the start line and in the finish area. We advise that you use public facilities to save queuing prior to the race.
