We have a comprehensive plan in place that covers off may different options for you.
A plea from us to you to make your race day safe and enjoyable.
- Please allow extra time to arrive at the race as it will be very busy.
- The race route itself will start to be closed down from 8am. We need this amount of time to ensure all traffic is off the road, all side roads are shut and we are ready to go with a fully closed road at 9am.
- Lift share if possible.
- Plan well ahead and have a contingency in place should your first choice of parking be full.
- Do not park anywhere on the race route as you will cause unnecessary danger to other runners who may still be out on the route after you have finished. For your safety there is a full road closure in place meaning it is an offence for you to drive on teh closed roads….

Live local to the race?
Please consider walking to the race or have someone drop you off, but away from the race route.
Bus
A normal Sunday service will operate into Grimsby Town Centre, just a short walk to the race start.
Train
Grimsby railway station is a 5 minute walk to the start.
Park and Stride 1
This is always busy and always fills up early.

- Gate C and Gate D will give you access to Car Park 4 (near engineering off Laceby Road). Users of this car park would have to walk either offsite along Laceby Road towards Nuns Corner roundabout or, past the MUGA and Sports Centre to head right towards the Bargate entrance and front of the site.
- Gate E (what we class as our main Hereford Avenue entrance) will give access to Car Park 1 and the small car park at Little Stars (which will be unrestricted on a Sunday).
- Car Park 5 on Laceby Road (accessed round the back of the shop) will also be available.
It’s approximately a 15 minute walk to Town Hall Square where you need to gather pre race and similarly back from the finish line in People’s Park. This is an unattended car park.
It is under half a mile from the finish to your car.

This is a good option if you fancy a walk or jog warm up to the start. Car park will close at 2pm. It is approx 2 miles to the start and just over a mile to loosen the legs off post race.
Use either car park entrance on Chelmsford Avenue.

Accessibility parking
The areas in and around the start line and Town Hall area will be closed from 7am for the safety of all runners. The closest car parks to the start line is Freshney Place AND Garden street NCP.
The roads in and around the finish area in People’s Park will close from 8am.

Enter Grimsby on either the A180, A46 or A16 and then follow the signs for ‘Town Centre’, the car park is accessible from Frederick Ward Way near the Primark entrance. ANPR is in use at the entrance. When you leave the car park press the buzzer and let them know you took part in the race and you will be allowed out without paying.

FREE parking courtesy of North East Lincolnshire Council. This is a 5 minute walk to the Town Hall and start line areas. Avoid the Town Hall Square area as the roads around there will be closed from 7am.
