Road closures for ABP Humber Coastal half marathon/10k.
Cleethorpes; Sunday 15th September.
A Â full rolling road closure will be in place for the race for the safety of the runners, volunteers and other road users. This is legally binding and authorised by North East Lincolnshire Council and Lincolnshire county Council.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
We ask road users to make a slight adjustment to their day and allow the race to take place. Please do not drive on the closed roads as you are putting the lives of our volunteers, some of whom are children, as well as those of 2000 plus runners at risk.
Please be assured that we will re-open all roads as soon as it is safe to do so.
5:00am                      Course safety checks begin.
7:00am                       Central Promenade Road Cleethorpes closes.
8:00am                       Kings Road, Cleethorpes closes between Cromwell Road and Chichester Road in both directions.
9:30am                       Course Road closures begin out on the route.
- Kings Road – Chichester Road to North Sea Lane.
- Anthonys Bank Road Fitties/Thorpe Park various roads on Holiday Park.
- South Sea Lane to Junction of Tetney Road A1031
- Tetney Road to Tetney Crossroads (A1031 to Tetney Lock Road)
- Tetney Lock Road to Newton Marsh Lane, Tetney Lock.
- 1st Main Road, Humberston Fitties.
10.45 – 11:00am       Roads begin to reopen on a rolling basis when safe to do so.
Starting with Kings Road and Thorpe Park, then South Sea Lane, Tetney Road, Tetney Lock Road and Newton Marsh Lane.
Runners should clear Newton Marsh Lane by 12:15pm.
1st Main Road Fitties should reopen by 1.30pm.
15:00Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Central Promenade Cleethorpes Re-opens.
Kings Road, Cleethorpes- Fast Food, Gym, Cinema and Retail.
Motorists will be able to come and go as normal from McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell, Subway, Cinema, Burn fitness, coffee shop, retail shops and Premier Inn Up until 0930 hrs.
At 0930 hours this time exit only will allowed via the Cinema/McDonalds roundabout on Kings Road heading north(left turn) then left into Chichester Road to avoid other Race Day closures.
This diversion will be paused to facilitate a full closure whilst each race starts and passes along Kings Road at around 0950hrs and reopen again at around 1010hrs. Closing for the final time at 10.20hrs reopening again at 1040hrs with a full reopening Access and egress at approximately 10.50hrs.
