Here at Tape2Tape we are committed to ensuring our events are sustainable and have minimum impact on
the environment.
One aspect of our races we are keen to improve upon is that of tee shirts and unnecessary waste. Feedback from some runners suggests that not every runner wants a tee shirt after completing a race.
The environmental benefits for us are clear. The mass production and distribution of race t-shirts contribute to  waste, not just from the garments themselves but also in terms of  packaging and potential overproduction. As sustainability becomes an ever-more pressing concern, we have an opportunity to reduce the overall environmental footprint of our races.
By giving runners the option to forgo the t-shirt, we are not only cutting down on waste, but you’re also sending a positive message about conscious consumption.
We ran a trial at one of our other events earlier this year and found that 35-40% opted in to add a tee shirt to their order.
The benefit of this approach is that you’re offering a choice, and that decision helps to ensure that only those who genuinely want the item are getting it, reducing the chances of a t-shirt ending up unused in a drawer.
As the costs of every aspect of race organisation continue to rise, this also allows us to keep our entry prices at a competitive level.
As a result from now onwards all of the Tape2Tape races will have tee shirts as an optional extra item.
